A 22 year old woman gave birth to twin after a cesarean operation in Aurangabad (India). But due to some complications the blood did not clot and there was a huge blood loss. The doctors tried everything they can but of no use. So they decided to remove the uterus completely to save the woman’s life. Naineswari Ghadke, a senior nurse in the hospital with 11 years experience gave an idea that saved the day. She advised the women to breastfeed the twin even though she was having huge bleeding which seemed completely ridiculous. But to everyone’s surprise, the bleeding stopped soon after she started breast feeding. Why?? Because Breastfeeding releases a hormone called ‘Oxytocin’ which aids in blood clotting.
